To visit Thailand you can opt for the following visas: -

Tourist Visa:

If you are staying in America, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Canada, all you have to do is apply to your nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate for a visa. Usually it is a sixty-day tourist visa. This means you will have to return within sixty days unless you can extend the validity of the visa on the basis of the date of your return ticket. Therefore it is advisable to buy your return ticket to ensure your Thai visa. Once you have your tourist visa, you can travel anywhere within the country.

Visa on Arrival: 

Another option is to get a visa on your arrival at Thailand. The visa will be handed to you as soon as you land in Thailand. This visa is valid for thirty days only, but you can extend your stay by a simple move. When you come to the end of the stipulated thirty days, you will have to travel to a nearby country out of Thailand. The very next day you travel back to Thailand so that you again get a visa on arrival for thirty days.

This is not an advisable method to take, as it is complicated, and may interrupt your course of study.

B Visa:

The B Visa or the non-immigrant business visa is only available if you have a job in Thailand. You can try for a job in a local school if you want to opt for this visa. Once you get an offer letter from the school, the school will also give you the necessary documents for you to obtain a B Visa. To move out of Thailand, you need an official letter from the school that makes you eligible for a Non Immigrant Business Visa that is valid for 90 days. As long as you are working in Thailand, you can go on extending the visa.

Work permit: 

A work permit allows you to work legally in Thailand for twelve months. It is necessary to arrange for a non immigrant B visa through your employer before you get a work permit.
