Shopping in Pattaya

There are numerous shopping malls in central Pattaya, along with two super centres where everything from instant noodles to TV sets. Beach Road and south Pattaya has many shops where you can buy garments, jewellery, leather goods, paintings, bronze ware and a host of other things. Bargaining is fun. Every Sunday there is a superb market at Naklua, just north of Pattaya city.

The city’s major gem, jewellery, silk, cotton and handicraft shops, tailors and boutiques are all in the vicinity, or adjacent to major beachside hotels. Pattaya 2 Road also has several handicraft and silk shops.

A multi-million Baht shopping complex on North Pattaya Road, patterned after the Chiang Mai night market, includes a handicrafts center, bazaar and shopping arcade with small bars, nightclubs and an outdoor seafood restaurant.

A complimentary bimonthly pocket-sized Shopping Guide published by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), contains shopping tips, maps of major shopping areas and a comprehensive list of TAT accredited shops in Pattaya and other major tourist destinations.
